Coming soon · APEST Teams

A group has a fivefold pattern. Now you can read it.

Each person in your group already holds a 5Q report naming their vocational pattern across the five functions Christ gave his Body. APEST Teams reads those reports as a set. Nobody fills in a new questionnaire. Nobody submits a colleague's results. The output is one document — every participant reads the identical report.

APEST Teams is not open yet. This page is the honest preview: what the report reads, what your team will need ready before it opens, and three things it will not do.

Sample finding

Four of your five leaders lead by tending. Nobody here is charged with going.

This came from five scores and a page of arithmetic — not a workshop, not an impression.

Illustrative team of five · not a live report

How it works

Three steps. One shared document.

The process is designed so that no single participant has more information than another. One person opens the team and invites the group. Each participant attaches their own existing 5Q report. Everyone reads the same output.

  1. 01

    Open and invite

One person opens a team and invites between three and twelve participants. No other setup is required at this stage. Participants receive a link; they do not need to coordinate with each other before joining.

  2. 02

    Attach your own report

Each participant attaches the 5Q report they already hold from 5Q Central. Nobody fills in a new assessment here, and nobody submits or sees another person's report. Each person brings only what is already theirs.

  3. 03

    Read together

When all reports are in, every participant receives the identical document. There is no manager's edition, no private scoring, no ranking. The report is written to be read by the whole group at once.

The report

Six movements, each labeled by how it was derived.

The report does not mix arithmetic with argument without telling you which is which. Each section carries a label — transcribed, computed, interpreted, or assigned — so you can see exactly what kind of claim you are reading.

  • Transcribed

    The ledger

Each person's five scores as they appear in their own 5Q report, with dates, transcribed without alteration. This is the raw material everything else is built from.

  • Computed

    Coverage

A computed reading of which functions are held strongly across the group, which are held thinly, and which nobody in the room carries at any meaningful level.

  • Computed

    Concentration

A computed reading of whether this group represents a real ecology of functions or four variations of the same instinct. Concentration is different from coverage — and often more diagnostic.

  • Interpreted

    Where authority sits

An interpreted reading of which function decision-making in this group tends to defer to — and which function can be consistently ignored without anyone noticing.

  • Interpreted

    What this pattern produces

An interpreted reading of the predictable fruit this configuration tends to generate, and the predictable blind spot it tends to carry. Both are named plainly.

  • Assigned

    One thing to try

A single thirty-day practice aimed at the group's thinnest function, with a debrief question. One assignment, not a program. The report does not prescribe beyond this.

Before it opens

The one thing worth doing now: take the 5Q Assessment.

APEST Teams reads the 5Q reports participants already hold. The assessment lives at 5Q Central — independent, connected to the 5Q work but not run from here. Each participant needs their own report. If people in your group have not yet taken the assessment, that is the one concrete step available now.

5Q Central is an independent site. The assessment there is not operated by this platform.

What it is not
  • Not a hiring or performance instrument

No participant is ranked, scored against another, or found wanting. The report reads a group's pattern, not the adequacy of its members. Using it to justify a personnel decision is a misuse of what it is designed to do.

  • Not a personality workshop

APEST describes functions Christ gave to his Body, not temperament types or psychological categories. The report reasons from Ephesians 4 and published work in that tradition. It is a theological diagnostic, not a self-understanding exercise.

  • Not Alan Hirsch speaking

The report reasons from published work and cites it, but it does not impersonate Alan or substitute for the community discernment and pastoral judgment that any reading of this kind requires.

    Take the 5Q Assessment

The individual vocational assessment that reads one person's pattern across the five functions. Participants will need this before APEST Teams can produce a team report. Operated independently at 5Q Central.

Be notified when APEST Teams opens.

We are opening first to a small number of real teams — groups already doing the work. The report needs to be argued with before it is published widely. We want teams who will push back on a finding, question a label, and tell us where the reasoning does not hold. If that is your team, leave your details.

Your email is used only to notify you about APEST Teams. It will not be added to any mailing list.
